Pokemon Provincial Championships FAQ

Following City Championship events are the Pokémon TCG State/Province/Territory Championships, the next step toward the 2012 World Championships in Waikoloa, Hawaii. Think you have what it takes to be one of the top four? Here’s your chance to prove it and earn awesome prizes that show your accomplishment. These events are held in several cities in North America and across the globe. Results of the State/Province/Territory Championships count toward your Championship Points!

When are the Pokémon TCG S/P/T Championships?

The Pokémon TCG S/P/T Championships will be held on March 10th, 17th and 24th in locations across North America.The Ontario Provincial Championships will be held on March 10th.

Are There any Requirements for Attendance?

The S/P/T Championships do not require an invitation, or qualification. All players in good standing are welcome to participate.

What are the prizes?

Prizes for North American events are listed below. For information on prizes at international events, please contact the organizer of those specific events.

Prizes are awarded to the top players in each of three age divisions.

The divisions are:

Junior Division: Born in 2001 or later

Senior Division: Born in 1997, 1998, 1999, or 2000

sters Division: Born in 1996 or earlier

All participants will receive 3 Play! Points, and a Pokémon S/P/T Championships promo card (while supplies last), just for playing!

1st Place

A Pokémon TCG S/P/T Championships 1st Place award

A $300 travel allowance to participate in the Pokémon TCG National Championships (U.S. & Canada). This allowance will be given on-site at the National Championships.

*A combination of 36 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

A first-round bye at the U.S. or Canada National Championships**10 Championship Points

2nd Place

A Pokémon TCG S/P/T Championships 2nd Place award

A combination of 36 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

8 Championship Points

3rd/4th Place

A Pokémon TCG S/P/T Championships 3rd/4th place award

A combination of 18 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

6 Championship Points

5th through 8th Place

A combination of 9 booster packs from current Pokémon TCG expansions

5 Championship Points9th Place through 12th Place4 Championship Points (if division attendance is 32 or greater)

13th Place through 16th Place

3 Championship Points (if division attendance is 64 or greater)

17th Place through 32nd Place

2 Championship Points (if division attendance is 64 or greater)

33rd Place through 64th Place

1 Championship Point (if division attendance is 128 or greater)

* Players can win multiple travel stipends. Travel stipends must be collected by the winner of record. Travel stipends are available to players from the U.S. and Canada only.

** Byes do not stack. Players winning more than one S/P/T event will receive only a round-one bye. Byes are available to players from the U.S. and Canada only.

How do I collect my travel allowance (1st place)?

Upon receiving your prize package at your S/P/T Championships, the Tournament Organizer will provide you with a checklist. In order to qualify for the benefits, the checklist must be completed and returned to us, postmarked by April 15th, 2012.
Travel allowances will be distributed on Thursday, June 28th during preregistration and Friday, June 29th between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. Photo ID of the player or the player’s parent/guardian will be required to collect the travel allowance
